PROSECUTORS  in New Mexico are preparing for the trials of the three adults charged with the brutal murder of ten-year-old Victoria Martens. The accused include the little girl’s own mother, and a convicted rapist. The monster mom told police that watching her 10 year old daughter’s assault gave her ‘sexual gratification’

According to the news station KOAT, Michelle Martens confessed to police that she watched and did nothing while Fabian Gonzales and Jessica Kelley a convicted rapist — sexually assaulted, strangled and dismembered Victoria, who had begged for mercy. It was the day after the girl’s tenth birthday. The mother admitted that watching her daughter’s rape gave her “sexual gratification.” As Martens watched, Kelley “held her hand over” Victoria’s mouth during the sexual assault, the complaint said. According to the document, “Michelle stated she watched this … happen for sexual gratification.”

Martens reportedly told police that she and Kelley injected the little girl with meth, and that the women watched as Gonzales, Michelle’s boyfriend, sexually assaulted Victoria. He then strangled her to death, according to the mother’s report, and Jessica stabbed the girl’s body repeatedly before cutting it into pieces. The murderers reportedly removed some of the girl’s organs. Her heart was found in a plastic bag in a laundry basket at the home.“I let them do it,” Martens said, according to transcripts obtained by WREG.Martens told police that shortly after the murder, she and Fabian had sex, and the three later made dinner together.

An autopsy found that Victoria had alcohol in her system at the time of death, and had the HPV virus,  a sexually transmitted disease. No meth was found in her system, despite her mother’s claim. The transcripts revealed that Gonzales had sexually assaulted Victoria on a daily basis during the month before she died, and took photos and video of the assault.

The autopsy, obtained by Albuquerque television station KOAT on Tuesday, also revealed a number of other disturbing details in the horrific and heartbreaking case. The autopsy was conducted two days after she was killed, but the report was not released until months after the girl’s death. The report took longer than normal because of the state of the victim’s body, the medical examiner’s office told KOAT. According to the report, Victoria’s body showed signs of sexual abuse prior to her death. She also tested positive for human papillomavirus — also known as HPV — a sexually transmitted disease. After being strangled, her body was dismembered and burned. She was found to have multiple abrasions and contusions to her head and neck, and her spine had been fractured. Some of her organs, including her heart, had been removed from the body, and were found in a plastic bag in a laundry basket at the crime scene, according to the report.

The mother further confessed to letting random men rape her daughter. She reportedly told police she met one at work and another online. According to KOAT, Michelle may have also let those men sexually assault her young son. But her story changed during the course of questioning. In a second version, she allegedly stated that she had left Victoria at home with Gonzales and Kelley, who is a convicted rapist, according to the station.Martens said Victoria died after taking some methamphetamine that had been left out on a table, and that Gonzales and Kelly had tried to dispose of the child’s body, the transcripts showed. The pair also threatened to kill her, she claimed. “That if I say anything, I’m going to be the next one,” Martens said.

But hours after the interview began, Martens again changed her story, according to Albuquerque television station KOB. At that point, she told investigators she watched as Gonzales and Kelley gave the child meth– which according to Martens “calms her down” — so they could rape her, the television station reported. Michelle Martens is seen after she was arrested following her daughter’s killing on Aug. 24, 2016.  Martens allegedly told investigators that her daughter begged them to stop while she looked on and did nothing. She then told investigators that, “Jessica was stabbing her,” and that she and her cousins started “cutting [Victoria’s] arms.”

The gruesome incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Aug. 23, according to the mother. After Victoria was killed, the three “acted like nothing ever happened,” Martens told police. She had sex with Gonzales just 20 minutes after he allegedly raped and killed Victoria; the three also cleaned up and made dinner, KRQE reported. During his interview, Gonzales said that he had sex with Victoria “shortly after the child was deceased,” according to a search warrant. The police transcripts also revealed chilling and disturbing details about the final month of the child’s short life. Martens said that the pair had sexually assaulted Victoria three times in the days before they allegedly strangled and stabbed her to death, and that she suspected her boyfriend had perpetrated the sexual abuse of the young girl for about a month, KRQE reported.

During the interview, which lasted about eight hours, she told investigators he raped Victoria daily the month before her killing while also taking pornographic videos and photos, according to KOB. The pair had only been dating for about a month at the time of the homicide. Victoria had also been sexually assaulted by at least two other men — allegedly as her mother watched — in the six months before her death, KOB reported. “Michelle stated she watched this … happen for sexual gratification,” Martens has been charged with kidnapping and child abuse resulting in death. Gonzales faces the same charges as well as child rape. Kelley was also charged with kidnapping, child abuse resulting in death and child rape.

All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them. According to a report from news station KOB 4, Gonzales said Jessica Kelley is responsible. The report says that three defendants will be tried separately, as prosecutors have asked the judge for more time on what they say is a complicated case. Pretrial hearings are set to begin in August.
